*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Soboško Lake (Soboška Kamešnica), also known as Soboško jezero, is a popular recreational area near Murska Sobota in northeastern Slovenia. The lake is a gravel pit lake, formed through excavation, and has become a favored spot for various outdoor activities. Due to its shallow nature, the water warms up relatively quickly during the summer months. Typically, from June to August, the surface water temperature ranges between 22°C and 26°C, making it suitable for swimming. In spring and autumn, the water temperature drops to around 12°C to 18°C, while in winter, it can fall to approximately 4°C to 6°C.
Swimming in Soboško Lake is popular, especially during the warmer months. The lake offers a designated swimming area with facilities such as lifeguards, sunbeds, and shaded spots. Visitors can also enjoy other activities like kayaking, paddleboarding, and cycling around the lake. However, it's important to note that the lake is not an officially monitored swimming area, and swimming is at one's own risk. Experts caution that the water temperature can vary significantly with depth, with deeper areas being 10°C to 20°C colder than the surface, increasing the risk of cramps and drowning.
Outside the summer season, swimming becomes less common due to the cooler water temperatures. Nevertheless, the lake remains a picturesque spot for walking, picnicking, and enjoying nature's beauty throughout the year.
