*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Pine Creek Lake in southeastern Oklahoma experiences noticeable seasonal shifts in surface water temperature. In winter the surface often cools to roughly 40–55°F (4–13°C), while spring sees a gradual rise into the 50–70°F (10–21°C) range as air temperatures warm. Summer surface readings commonly reach about 75–88°F (24–31°C) and can climb higher during heat waves, especially in shallow coves, and in autumn the water typically falls back to around 60–75°F (16–24°C) as the lake cools. Actual temperatures vary with depth, recent weather, inflows and shaded areas, so localized readings can differ from these general seasonal ranges.
Swimming at Pine Creek Lake is generally permitted because the reservoir is managed for multiple recreational uses, including bathing, boating and fishing; however, conditions and rules can change by area and season. Many Corps-managed or public lakes do not provide lifeguards, and some stretches may be marked off for safety or conservation, so visitors should look for posted signage and follow local guidance. Water quality, submerged hazards, boat traffic and cold-water shock in spring or late fall are important considerations, so swimmers should exercise caution, choose designated swim areas when available, and be prepared for temperature-related risks.
