*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
The reservoir known locally as Pantà de Riba-Roja is a managed body of water in Catalonia whose temperatures vary with the seasons. In winter the surface water typically cools to around 6–12 °C (43–54 °F), spring brings gradual warming to roughly 10–18 °C (50–64 °F), summer can push surface temperatures to about 20–26 °C (68–79 °F) on warm days, and autumn sees a decline back toward the spring range of 12–18 °C (54–64 °F). These figures are approximate and can change with recent weather, water level, and depth: deeper parts of the reservoir remain considerably colder year-round, while shallow bays warm fastest in summer. Wind, inflows and reservoir operations also influence local conditions.
Swimming opportunities at Pantà de Riba-Roja are limited by its status as a working reservoir. Many reservoirs in the region are subject to restrictions because they serve purposes such as water supply, hydroelectric generation and irrigation; additionally, sudden changes in depth, underwater hazards, strong currents near outlets, and variable water quality make bathing risky. For those reasons local authorities commonly discourage or prohibit swimming, and any allowed access is usually regulated and signposted for safety. Visitors should consult local notices and obey posted rules before entering the water.
