Palcmanská Maša is a mountain reservoir located in the Slovak Paradise region, surrounded by forested hills and small villages. Due to its elevation and mountain setting, the water here tends to stay relatively cool even in the summer months. In June the lake may still feel chilly, often under 18°C, but by July and August the surface can warm up to around 20–22°C during stretches of hot weather. Early mornings and shaded areas, however, keep the water noticeably colder compared to lowland lakes.
Swimming in Palcmanská Maša is possible and popular mainly on warm summer days. The clean mountain water offers a refreshing experience, especially after hikes in the nearby Slovak Paradise trails. There are a few small spots along the shore where people can enter the water, though facilities are modest. Many visitors also enjoy boating, paddleboarding, or just relaxing by the shore, making the lake a versatile summer destination.
