Nové Štrbské pleso is a small mountain lake located in the High Tatras, close to the more famous Štrbské pleso. Because of its alpine setting and relatively high altitude, the water here remains cold for most of the year. Even in summer, the lake rarely warms above 15–17 °C, and on cooler days it can feel much colder. The temperature reflects the surrounding climate — long winters, fresh snowmelt, and frequent mountain winds keep the water refreshing and brisk.
Swimming in Nové Štrbské pleso is generally not common, as the lake is more valued for its natural beauty and peaceful atmosphere.
