*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Lake Mäsen (called Mäsen in Swedish) in Halland County typically follows the seasonal temperature patterns common to small inland lakes in southwestern Sweden. During winter the surface often falls to around 0–4 °C (32–39 °F) and can freeze in colder years. In spring the water gradually warms to roughly 4–12 °C (39–54 °F) as ice breaks up and solar heating increases. Peak summer temperatures are usually in the range 16–24 °C (61–75 °F), with sheltered bays sometimes reaching the upper end on warm, calm days. In autumn the surface cools back toward 8–14 °C (46–57 °F) as air temperatures drop and mixing increases.
Swimming at Mäsen is generally permitted, reflecting Sweden’s public right of access (allemansrätten) and the common use of lakes for bathing. Whether it is advisable at any given time depends on water quality, seasonal temperature and local restrictions: warm summer months are most comfortable, while cold spring or autumn water presents a hypothermia risk. Algal blooms, boat traffic, protected shorelines or private property may impose temporary or local limits, so swimmers should heed signage and local guidance. As with any natural water, assessing conditions and exercising caution—especially with children and non-swimmers—is recommended.
