*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Lake Wenatchee is an alpine, glacier- and snowmelt-fed lake in Washington’s Cascades, so its water stays relatively cool year-round. Typical surface temperatures range from roughly the low 40s to mid 50s °F (about 5–13 °C) in spring and early summer as snowmelt flows in, warming to roughly the upper 50s to low 70s °F (14–22 °C) during the warmest weeks of July and August in shallow, sheltered areas. By late fall the surface usually falls back into the 40s °F (5–9 °C) and in winter the lake can approach freezing at the surface, around 32 °F (0 °C), with near-freezing conditions under any ice cover. These seasonal ranges reflect elevation, inflow of cold mountain water, and variable sunlight.
Swimming in Lake Wenatchee is permitted and is a common summer activity at beach areas within state and public access sites, but it is often chilly except in peak summer. Cold water can rapidly lead to shock or hypothermia, and swimmers should be cautious about sudden depth changes and boat traffic; flotation devices and short exposure times are prudent. In winter and early spring the lake is not suitable for recreational swimming due to very cold temperatures and possible ice cover. Overall, swimming is allowed but comfort and safety depend greatly on season and local conditions.
