Lake Sirino is a small mountain lake in the Sirino massif of Basilicata, and its water temperatures reflect that higher-elevation setting. Typical seasonal surface temperatures range from about 0–6 °C (32–43 °F) in winter when the lake can approach freezing, to 6–14 °C (43–57 °F) in spring as it gradually warms. In summer the water commonly reaches roughly 18–24 °C (64–75 °F), with particularly warm afternoons occasionally pushing toward 25 °C (77 °F); autumn sees a cooling back to about 10–16 °C (50–61 °F). Because the lake is relatively deep and fed by mountain runoff, it remains noticeably cooler than lowland coastal waters even in midsummer.
