** Average - Average water temperature on this day in recent years
*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Lago La Vota, in Italian Lago La Vota, is a freshwater lake in Calabria whose water temperature varies noticeably with the seasons because of its inland location and elevation. In winter the surface typically falls to about 4–12 °C (39–54 °F), often feeling quite cold; spring sees a gradual rise to roughly 8–16 °C (46–61 °F) as air temperatures warm. In summer the lake commonly reaches its warmest range, approximately 18–24 °C (64–75 °F) on average, though shallow bays can be slightly warmer on hot days. During autumn the temperature usually drops back to around 10–18 °C (50–64 °F) as the weather cools and daylight shortens.
Swimming in Lago La Vota is in principle possible during the warmer months when surface temperatures are comfortable, but whether it is allowed depends on local management, water-use restrictions and posted signage: some lakes or reservoirs restrict bathing to protect drinking-water supplies, wildlife or for safety reasons. Where swimming is permitted there are often no formal lifeguards or facilities, and colder water even in shoulder seasons can pose hypothermia risk. Visitors should check current local rules and water-quality information, obey on-site notices, and take standard safety precautions before entering the water.
