Lake Silvaplana (Silvaplanersee) is a beautiful alpine lake located in the Upper Engadine region of the canton of Graubünden, Switzerland. Covering an area of about 2.7 square kilometers (1.04 square miles), it is known for its excellent conditions for windsurfing and kitesurfing, thanks to the steady Maloja wind. The lake is surrounded by stunning mountain scenery and is a popular destination for water sports and hiking. Due to its elevation at 1,791 meters (5,876 feet), the water temperature remains quite cool, typically ranging between 10°C to 16°C (50°F to 61°F) during the summer months.
