*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Lake Seminole’s surface water temperatures follow seasonal patterns typical of the Florida Panhandle, warming through spring into summer and cooling in fall and winter. Typical spring temperatures range from about 60–75°F (15–24°C), summer surface readings commonly reach 75–90°F (24–32°C), autumn usually sees 60–80°F (15–27°C), and winter surface temperatures often fall to roughly 50–65°F (10–18°C). These values can vary with weather, depth, inflows and wind-driven mixing; deeper water and areas fed by cooler tributaries will remain noticeably colder than shallow bays and flats on sunny days.
Swimming in Lake Seminole is practicable in many public access areas but is informal rather than supervised. The reservoir is used primarily for boating and fishing, and while people do swim, there are no widespread lifeguarded beaches and local restrictions can apply near the dam, boat ramps or privately controlled shores. Safety considerations—boat traffic, submerged hazards, occasional algal blooms, and the presence of wildlife such as alligators and snakes—are why swimmers should exercise caution, check posted advisories, and prefer calm, shallow spots with good visibility and fewer boats.
