** Average - Average water temperature on this day in recent years
*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Lake Iamonia, a relatively shallow lake in northern Florida, experiences pronounced seasonal swings in surface water temperature. In winter (December–February) the surface typically ranges from about 50–65°F (10–18°C), while spring (March–May) warms to roughly 60–75°F (16–24°C). Summer months (June–August) can push surface temperatures into the upper 70s to low 90s°F, approximately 25–32°C, especially during prolonged heat and low-water conditions. Fall (September–November) generally cools from summer highs into the mid-60s to upper 70s°F (18–27°C). These are approximate surface ranges; actual readings vary with weather, lake level, wind, shading and depth, and shallow areas warm and cool faster than deeper spots.
Swimming in Lake Iamonia is physically possible and people do swim there, but it is not a developed public bathing beach and access and safety conditions are important considerations. Much of the shoreline is private or undeveloped, so formal public swim areas and lifeguards are limited; boat traffic, submerged vegetation and logs, fluctuating depths, occasional algal blooms and the presence of native wildlife (including alligators) create hazards. Local rules, property access, and recent water-quality reports should be checked before entering the water, and swimmers should exercise usual lake-safety precautions.
