*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Lake Loramie is a shallow reservoir in western Ohio that experiences marked seasonal shifts in surface water temperature. In winter the lake commonly drops to near freezing, roughly 32–40°F (0–4°C), and may develop ice in sustained cold. Spring sees a steady rise, with surface temperatures typically in the 40–60°F (4–16°C) range as the water warms. By summer, shallow areas often reach their warmest, frequently between 70–85°F (21–29°C) on hot afternoons, with midsummer peaks occasionally a bit higher. In autumn the lake cools again, generally falling through the 50–65°F (10–18°C) range before winter refreezing.
Swimming is permitted at Lake Loramie in designated park swim areas and is popular in the warmest months because those beach zones are monitored for safety and water quality. However, there are often no lifeguards on duty at every time, so swimmers must follow posted rules and exercise personal caution. Like many inland lakes, Loramie can experience boat traffic, submerged hazards and occasional algal blooms, all of which influence where and when swimming is advisable; checking current park advisories before entering the water is recommended.
