Lake Jennings is a relatively small reservoir in San Diego County whose surface water temperatures fluctuate with the seasons. In winter the lake commonly cools to roughly 50–60°F (10–16°C), while spring sees a gradual rise into the mid‑50s to mid‑60s °F (13–18°C). By summer surface readings often reach the upper 60s to mid‑70s °F (20–24°C), occasionally climbing toward the upper 70s °F (25–26°C) on hot spells; autumn generally brings a gradual cooling back toward the 60s °F (16–20°C). Deeper water remains colder year‑round and the reservoir can stratify, so temperature at depth will be several degrees lower than the surface, which is important for boating and fishing but less relevant for surface recreation.
