** Average - Average water temperature on this day in recent years
*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Lake Arreo, also known locally as Lago de Caicedo-Yuso, is a small, clear lake in the Basque Country whose water remains relatively cool year-round because of its modest depth and northern location. Typical seasonal surface temperatures range from roughly 4–8 °C (39–46 °F) in winter, 8–14 °C (46–57 °F) in spring, 18–24 °C (64–75 °F) at the warmest points of summer, and 10–16 °C (50–61 °F) during autumn. Even in mid-summer the lake often feels brisk compared with lowland beaches, although on warm sunny days the surface can be pleasant enough for short swims.
Recreational bathing is commonly practiced in the warmer months, so swimming is possible, but it is subject to local rules and seasonal recommendations. Because the lake lies within a protected natural area and has ecological and water-quality sensitivities, authorities may regulate access or discourage prolonged swimming to protect habitat and maintain water quality; weather and safety considerations (cold shock, underwater hazards) also make caution advisable. Visitors should follow on-site signage and local guidance; when conditions and rules permit, brief swims in summer are the usual way people enjoy the lake.
