*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Lac Provost is located in the Pimbina-Saint-Donat sector of Mont-Tremblant National Park, Quebec, and offers a refreshing, cool swimming experience typical of the deep Laurentian lakes. While specific long-term data for the lake is unavailable, the region's lakes generally warm up considerably in the summer. Surface temperatures in the designated beach areas of the park typically range between 19∘C and 22∘C (66∘F to 72∘F) during the peak season of July and August. In the winter, the lake surface is frozen, with water temperatures dropping to near freezing, generally in the range of 0∘C to 5∘C (32∘F to 41∘F).
Swimming is widely permitted and encouraged at Lac Provost, with the national park (SÉPAQ) operating a designated, revamped beach area. However, it is crucial to note that swimming at the Lac Provost beach is generally unsupervised, meaning there are no official lifeguards on duty. All swimming is therefore strictly at one's own risk, and visitors must exercise caution due to the depth of the lake and the risk of cold shock from the cooler water. Despite the lack of constant supervision, the beach provides facilities and an ideal setting for water activities, confirming its status as a primary recreational attraction within the park.
