*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Lac Wapizagonke, located in La Mauricie National Park in Quebec, is a long, narrow lake with relatively cool waters typical of a Laurentian national park. Due to the deep, forested environment, the water remains refreshing even in the warmest months. In the peak summer season, surface temperatures in the swimming areas likely reach a range of 17∘C to 20∘C (63∘F to 68∘F), which is cool but acceptable for short dips. In the winter, the water temperature drops close to freezing, typically around 0∘C to 5∘C (32∘F to 41∘F), leading to a complete freeze-over.
Swimming is widely permitted and encouraged at Lac Wapizagonke, which features a picnic area with a small beach that serves as a popular starting point for the Waber Falls hike, confirming swimming is an expected recreational activity. However, Parks Canada clearly states that beaches and lakes in the park are not supervised. This means there are no official lifeguards on duty, and all swimming is strictly at one's own risk. Swimmers must be mindful of the cold water temperatures, the risk of cold shock, and the presence of rental boats and other watercraft.
