Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Gloskärsfjärden is a bay or fjärd located on the coast of Ostrobothnia, directly connected to the Baltic Sea. Swimming is a common recreational activity here, legally permitted along the shoreline and at any designated public beaches, a freedom secured by Finland's Everyman’s Rights. This principle grants public access to natural waters for recreation. As a coastal area, the water quality is influenced by both the land runoff and the brackish water of the Baltic Sea, but it is generally suitable for seasonal bathing.
The water temperature in Gloskärsfjärden is heavily influenced by its connection to the sea. During the long winter, approximately from November to May, the water is typically covered by sea ice or remains near freezing, with temperatures ranging from 0∘C to 4∘C. The period for comfortable surface swimming is brief, peaking in July and early August. During this time, the surface temperature can rise to an approximate range of 18∘C to 21∘C in sun-warmed, shallow spots, making it ideal for swimming. Outside of the summer peak, the water is too cold for casual use, primarily attracting cold-water swimming enthusiasts.
