*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Fish Lake, located in Ontario, is one of the many small freshwater lakes scattered across the province, known for its clear water and peaceful natural surroundings. The water temperature in Fish Lake changes significantly through the year due to its relatively shallow depth and the region’s variable climate. In winter, the lake usually freezes completely, with water temperatures near 0 °C (32 °F). During spring, melting snow and cool air keep the water chilly, around 5–10 °C (41–50 °F). As the summer progresses, surface temperatures rise to more comfortable levels, typically 20–25 °C (68–77 °F), depending on location and weather. In autumn, cooling air quickly lowers the water back to 10–15 °C (50–59 °F), and the lake gradually prepares for another freeze.
Swimming in Fish Lake is generally allowed and most pleasant from late June to early September, when the water reaches its warmest point. The lake’s calm and clean water provides suitable conditions for families and recreational swimmers, and shallow areas warm up quickly under the summer sun. However, outside of this brief season, the low temperatures make swimming uncomfortable or even unsafe due to the risk of cold-water shock. Despite its short summer window, Fish Lake remains a relaxing spot for swimming, boating, and quiet outdoor recreation.
