* Current - Actual water temperature value
** Average - Average water temperature on this day in recent years
*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Lacul Călțun (Lacul Călțun) in South-Muntenia is a modest inland lake whose surface temperatures vary with the seasons, local weather and depth. In spring the water typically warms from about 8–15 °C (46–59 °F) as days lengthen and runoff declines. In summer surface temperatures can reach roughly 20–26 °C (68–79 °F) on warm spells, though deeper sections stay cooler. Autumn sees a steady cooling to around 10–16 °C (50–61 °F) as air temperatures fall, and in winter the lake can approach freezing at 0–4 °C (32–39 °F) depending on ice cover and prolonged cold. These figures are approximate; wind, shade, inflows and recent rainfall can shift local values by a few degrees.
Swimming at Lacul Călțun is generally possible during the warmer months when surface temperatures are most comfortable, but it is subject to local rules, water quality and safety considerations. Authorities or landowners may restrict access in places to protect habitat, prevent pollution or because of hazards such as steep banks, submerged obstacles or strong currents near inlets. Even when permitted, swimmers should be mindful of sudden temperature changes, the risk of hypothermia in cooler periods and the potential for algal blooms in late summer. Checking on-site signage or with local officials before entering the water is recommended.
