** Average - Average water temperature on this day in recent years
*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Akyatan Lagoon (Akyatan Gölü) near Adana is a shallow, coastal lagoon whose water temperatures reflect the Mediterranean climate and shallow depth. In winter months temperatures typically fall to roughly 12–16 °C (54–61 °F), while spring brings a gradual rise into the 15–22 °C (59–72 °F) range. Summer can warm the lagoon substantially, often reaching about 24–30 °C (75–86 °F) in the warmest months, and autumn sees a decline back toward roughly 18–24 °C (64–75 °F). Because the lagoon is shallow and partially separated from the open sea, temperature fluctuations can be larger than in deeper coastal waters, and surface waters may warm quickly on sunny days.
Swimming directly in Akyatan Lagoon is generally not encouraged and may be restricted in parts because the area is an important protected wetland and wildlife habitat, including nesting sites for sea turtles and many bird species. In addition, the lagoon’s brackish, shallow, and often muddy conditions do not offer ideal bathing quality compared with adjacent Mediterranean beaches. Visitors who wish to swim typically do so at nearby open-sea beaches where access and water quality are better; within the lagoon, activities are mainly nature observation, birdwatching and conservation-minded visits rather than recreational swimming.
