✅ As of today, the minimum water temperature is above 82°F (28°C). This is very warm water, which may feel almost hot to most people. Swimming in such conditions is perfect for those seeking relaxation and comfort in the water. These waters are often preferred for relaxation in hot weather, as the water temperature does not cool the body significantly. However, it is important to remember that in such warm waters, caution is necessary, as prolonged exposure without rest can lead to overheating. It is important to note that these swimming tips and recommendations apply only in good weather. *** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Balık Gölü (Lake Balık) sits high in the Ağrı region and is characterized by cold, mountain-influenced water temperatures. Because of its elevation and seasonal climate, the lake’s surface temperature varies markedly through the year. In winter the water is at or just above freezing and the surface often freezes over, effectively 0–1 °C (32–34 °F). During spring thaw the lake warms slowly to roughly 2–8 °C (36–46 °F). Peak summer surface temperatures typically reach around 8–15 °C (46–59 °F) on warm days but can remain cool even in July and August, and by autumn the temperature declines again to about 4–10 °C (39–50 °F).
Swimming is physically possible only in the briefest warm spells, but it is generally uncommon and not advisable. The cold water presents a real risk of hypothermia even in summer, weather can change rapidly at high altitude, and there are few lifeguards or facilities. In addition, the lake is valued for its natural and ecological features, so recreational bathing is often discouraged out of respect for habitat and safety. Visitors who consider entering the water should be cautious, brief, and aware of both personal limits and local guidance.
