*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
The Tisza River flows directly near Solotvyno, serving as a natural border. However, Solotvyno is known not so much for the river as for its unique salt lakes, which have therapeutic effects. The Tisza River, as a large Carpathian artery fed by mountain waters, is characterized by a swift current and relatively cool water temperature. In the summer months (July-August), the water in the Tisza near Solotvyno may warm up to +20 to +23∘C in areas with a calm course. However, due to the strength of the current and the uneven riverbed, it is not the primary swimming location.
Swimming opportunities in the Tisza River itself in Solotvyno are limited and mostly unorganized. Locals occasionally use specific, safer shallow areas for a quick cool-down, but this is not a mass tourist attraction. Meanwhile, the river serves as an excellent place for enjoying nature, but for swimming, tourists highly prefer the famous Solotvyno salt lakes.
It is precisely the Solotvyno Lakes that offer ideal swimming conditions: their water warms up significantly better, reaching +24 to +28∘C in the summer. This, combined with the high salt concentration, which makes swimming incredibly comfortable and therapeutic, completely reorients the tourist flow away from the Tisza River towards the saline bodies of water.
