*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Sighetu Marmației (Romanian: Sighetu Marmației) is a town in the Maramureș area of northern Romania where small lakes, ponds and slow river stretches are typical rather than large, warm lowland lakes. Water temperatures in these local bodies of water vary with the seasons: in summer they commonly reach about 18–24 °C (64–75 °F), with occasional sheltered spots briefly up to 25–26 °C (77–79 °F) on very warm days. In spring and autumn temperatures commonly fall in the 6–16 °C range (43–61 °F) as runoff and cooler air lower surface warmth. During winter most natural shallow lakes and ponds approach freezing, often 0–4 °C (32–39 °F), and may be ice-covered for periods.
Swimming is possible in summer where local people use lakes and river bends, but formal supervised beaches are uncommon and some reservoirs or protected wetlands may prohibit bathing. Authorities or landowners may restrict access for safety, water-quality or conservation reasons, and cold spring/autumn water and strong currents in river channels present hypothermia and drowning risks. Anyone choosing to swim should check local rules, observe posted warnings, and be cautious about depth, temperature and lack of lifesaving services.
