** Average - Average water temperature on this day in recent years
*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Kremenchuk sits on a large stretch of the Dnieper River, often in the zone of the Kremenchuk Reservoir, which influences both water temperature and the possibilities for swimming. Over the course of the year, the water temperature varies quite a bit. In winter months (January–February) the river can cool down to near 3-4 °C, making swimming impractical except perhaps for very brief plunges or for hardy folk. As spring arrives, temperatures rise gradually; by May the water often reaches +12-16 °C, which might allow for short swims in very warm, calm days, but still feels cool for most.
Summer is the most favorable period: in June, July, and August the water usually warms to around +20-25 °C, sometimes a little more in shallow bays or near the shore where sun exposure and low flow help warming. That’s when swimming becomes comfortable and common. By September water begins cooling again, often dropping into the mid to high teens. In October the temperature falls further, making long swims less pleasant, and by late autumn it’s generally too cold for anyone but enthusiasts. Thus, the typical swimming season in Kremenchuk on the Dnieper (or reservoir) is roughly from late May or early June through September.
