*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Sebeș, located in central Romania, is crossed by mountain‑fed rivers and lies not far from lowland stretches and small reservoirs; water temperatures therefore vary with source, season and local depth. Mountain streams that feed the area are cold year‑round: in winter they hover around 0–4 °C (32–39 °F), rise to roughly 6–12 °C (43–54 °F) in spring and typically reach only about 10–16 °C (50–61 °F) at the warmest summer peaks. Lower‑lying river stretches and shallow artificial lakes or ponds warm more noticeably: winter averages close to 0–5 °C (32–41 °F), spring 6–14 °C (43–57 °F), summer commonly 18–24 °C (64–75 °F) and autumn 8–16 °C (46–61 °F). Shallow, sun‑exposed reservoirs can occasionally hit 22–25 °C (72–77 °F) during hot spells.
Swimming is possible in and around Sebeș but is conditional. Designated bathing spots and monitored recreational reservoirs are the safest choices; many locals also bathe informally in summer in slower river stretches. Restrictions may apply to drinking‑water reservoirs or where signage and local rules prohibit entry. Even when allowed, swimmers should be mindful of cold, fast currents in mountain‑fed sections, variable water quality after heavy rain, hidden depth changes and lack of lifeguards. Checking local notices and using supervised or officially sanctioned areas is recommended.
