*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Ocna Mureș (in Romanian - Ocna Mureș) is a small town in the central region of Romania known for its former salt mine and a number of saline lakes that attract visitors for recreation. Water temperatures in the lakes vary with the seasons and local conditions: in spring surface temperatures typically range from about 6–15 °C (43–59 °F) as the water warms after winter, in summer they commonly reach 20–28 °C (68–82 °F) on warm days, in autumn they cool to roughly 10–18 °C (50–64 °F), and in winter they can approach freezing, roughly 0–4 °C (32–39 °F), although higher salinity and depth can moderate freezing so some basins remain open longer. These values are approximate and vary with weather, depth and individual lake characteristics.
Swimming is generally possible in designated lakes and is most common in late spring through early autumn when temperatures are comfortable and local authorities monitor water quality. The higher salinity of some lakes increases buoyancy and is often promoted for therapeutic bathing, but not all basins are safe: access may be restricted for reasons of water quality, unstable banks, or conservation and safety concerns. Visitors should therefore use marked swimming areas and follow local signage and guidance to ensure water quality and lifeguard coverage are appropriate.
