*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Cluj-Napoca (in Romanian - Cluj-Napoca) in North‑West Romania sits near several small urban lakes and larger reservoirs on the Someșul Mic and in the surrounding hills. Water temperatures vary with season and location: in winter surface temperatures often fall to around 0–4 °C (32–39 °F) and shallow ponds may freeze, while spring sees a rise to roughly 6–16 °C (43–61 °F) as the water warms. In summer the more sheltered urban lakes and shallow sections typically reach about 18–25 °C (64–77 °F), with very shallow areas sometimes warming to 26–27 °C (79–81 °F) in hot spells. Autumn cooling returns temperatures to roughly 8–16 °C (46–61 °F) before winter ice sets in again.
Swimming is possible in the Cluj area when temperatures are high enough, but opportunities depend on the specific site and local rules. Some lakes and reservoirs are used for recreational swimming, rowing and watersports in summer, but many city ponds are not officially managed beaches, lack lifeguards and may have variable water quality. In addition, certain reservoirs restrict bathing for safety, water supply or ecological reasons. Visitors should look for designated bathing areas, heed municipal signage and check recent water quality information before entering the water to ensure a safe swim.
