*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
San Donà di Piave, located in the Veneto region near the Adriatic coast, lies along the lower course of the Piave River, one of the most important rivers in northeastern Italy. The river originates in the Alps and flows southward toward the sea, which means its water remains relatively cool throughout the year. In winter, the temperature of the Piave is generally around 4–7°C, in spring it rises to 10–15°C, and during summer it can reach 20–25°C in the wider, slower sections near San Donà. In autumn, the temperature gradually drops again to about 12–16°C.
Swimming in the Piave near San Donà di Piave is possible but not very common. The river’s current can be unpredictable, and in some areas the water level varies depending on rainfall and snowmelt. However, during the warmest summer months, locals sometimes swim or wade in calm stretches and along shallow gravel beaches. The water is usually clean, and the surrounding area is appreciated for its natural beauty and tranquility. While not a traditional swimming destination, the Piave offers refreshing opportunities for recreation in nature during hot Veneto summers.
