Water Temperature: Daily Trends, Historical Records, and Forecast
❌ As of today, the minimum water temperature ranges from 47°F (8°C) to 50°F (10°C). This is still cool water, suitable only for experienced swimmers or those accustomed to cold water. Swimming in such conditions is possible, but not recommended for prolonged periods. Extra caution should be taken during extended exposure, as the cold water can cause heat loss and lead to hypothermia. For added comfort, special clothing can be used. It is important to note that these swimming tips and recommendations apply only in good weather. When the air temperature is below 68°F (20°C), and sometimes even below 77°F (25°C), swimming can be unpleasant even with relatively high water temperatures.

*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Rovereto, located in Trentino-Alto Adige/Südtirol in the Vallagarina valley, lies a short drive from the northern shores of Lake Garda and is crossed by the Adige River. Water temperatures at Lake Garda near Rovereto vary by season: in summer months (June–August) surface temperatures typically range from about 20–26 °C (68–79 °F), often peaking around 25–27 °C (77–81 °F) in late July and August. Spring (April–May) usually sees 10–16 °C (50–61 °F), autumn (September–October) from roughly 12–20 °C (54–68 °F), and winter surface values commonly fall to 6–9 °C (43–48 °F). Local microclimates and depth mean temperatures can fluctuate between sheltered bays and wind-exposed stretches.
Swimming is generally allowed in Lake Garda and is popular in summer because water quality is regularly monitored and many public beaches, lidos and designated bathing areas are maintained for safety and access. In Rovereto itself the fast-flowing Adige is not recommended for casual swimming due to currents, boat traffic and variable depths; the town instead offers municipal pools and supervised facilities. Bathers should heed local signage, seasonal restrictions and lifeguard guidance, and be aware of wind-driven waves and boats when entering lake water.
