Location & Local Information
Siófok is one of the most famous towns on the southern shore of Lake Balaton and is often called the “capital” of the lake. The shallow waters near the shoreline in this area warm up quickly in summer, often reaching 24–27°C during hot periods, which makes them especially pleasant for families with children. Because the lake here is not deep, the water tends to stay warm and inviting throughout the bathing season, offering a comfortable experience even for longer swims.
The city is well known for its long sandy beaches, which are among the most popular on Balaton. Swimming in Siófok is complemented by many other water activities such as sailing, paddleboarding, and beach sports, giving the area a lively and holiday-like atmosphere.
