Location & Local Information
Badacsony is located on the northern shore of Lake Balaton, near the famous volcanic hills that give the area its unique landscape. The water here warms up during summer to around 23–26°C, providing comfortable conditions for swimming. Since the northern shore is slightly deeper than the southern side, the lake takes longer to heat up in late spring, but by mid-summer it is ideal for both casual bathers and more serious swimmers.
The shoreline in Badacsony offers a mix of natural beaches and small organized bathing spots. Swimmers can enjoy calm waters with fewer crowds compared to some of the larger resort towns along Balaton.
