** Average - Average water temperature on this day in recent years
*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
The Vilia River flows through parts of Khmelnytskyi, Ternopil and Rivne oblasts in western Ukraine. Its channel is relatively narrow (up to around 28 meters in width in some parts) and shallow in many stretches (1-2 meters deep). Because of this, in summer the shallow sun-exposed bends of the river can warm up decently. On hot July-August days, it’s likely that surface temperatures in those calm, shallow areas reach 22-25 °C. Deeper or shaded sections, or places with faster flow, would remain cooler — something like 18-20 °C. In late spring or early summer, the water is noticeably cooler, and prolonged swimming is less comfortable.
Swimming in Vilia is possible in certain locations: gentle banks, slow current, easy entry into water, and open stretches without heavy shade. Local people may make use of these spots for short dips and cooling off. However, it should be noted that the river has several stretches where the flow is regulated by small reservoirs/ponds, and some areas suffer from pollution or reduced water clarity. After significant rain, the water can become muddy and currents stronger, so choose familiar and safe spots.
