** Average - Average water temperature on this day in recent years
*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

The Têt River flows through the Pyrénées-Orientales region in southern France, stretching from the Pyrenees mountains to the Mediterranean coast. Its water temperature varies significantly with the seasons and elevation. In the upper mountainous regions, particularly in winter, the river remains quite cold, often around 5-8°C (41-46°F). As the river approaches lower elevations and warmer months arrive, especially in late spring and summer, the water temperature rises to between 16-22°C (61-72°F), making it more inviting for outdoor activities.
Swimming is possible in certain areas of the Têt, especially during the summer when the water is warmer. The river offers some popular swimming spots around Villefranche-de-Conflent and closer to Perpignan, where the water is calmer and safe for wading and swimming. Many visitors also enjoy the scenic rocky pools and natural basins in the foothills, ideal for a refreshing dip. While not all parts of the river are suitable for swimming, the Têt provides scenic and relaxing places to cool off, especially for those exploring the natural landscapes of the region.
