** Average - Average water temperature on this day in recent years
*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

The Sajó River flows through northeastern Hungary, passing both rural landscapes and industrial towns before joining the Tisza. Its water temperature changes quite noticeably with the seasons: during winter it often drops close to freezing, while in summer it can reach around 20–24 °C in calmer stretches. Despite this warming in the hot months, the river usually remains cooler and less predictable than nearby lakes, since rainfall and upstream currents strongly influence its flow and temperature.
Swimming in the Sajó is possible in principle, especially in shallow or slower-moving sections during the warm season, but it is not a common or widely recommended activity. The river is more often used for fishing and canoeing, while locals looking for bathing and relaxation tend to prefer managed lakes or thermal baths in the region. The Sajó, however, offers a more natural and adventurous experience for those who enjoy being in untamed waters.
