The Bodrog River flows into Hungary from Slovakia and joins the Tisza near Tokaj, creating a calm and scenic waterway. During the summer months, its water temperature usually ranges between 20–24°C, warming enough to be pleasant for swimming while still feeling refreshing compared to lakes. Thanks to the river’s relatively slow flow in Hungary, it is considered more approachable for bathing than some of the larger rivers.
Locals and visitors often use the riverside for swimming, fishing, and boating, especially around Tokaj and nearby villages. The Bodrog does not have as many developed beaches as Lake Balaton, but its natural banks and tranquil waters make it attractive for those who prefer a peaceful, close-to-nature swimming experience.
