** Average - Average water temperature on this day in recent years
*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

The Rositsa (Bulgarian: Росица) is a river in northern Bulgaria whose water temperature varies considerably through the year. In winter the river commonly approaches near-freezing conditions, often around 0–4 °C (32–39 °F). Spring warming typically brings temperatures up to roughly 5–12 °C (41–54 °F) as snowmelt and cooler rains continue to influence the flow. In summer, shallower and slower stretches can warm to comfortable levels, typically between 18–26 °C (64–79 °F) during warm spells, while deeper or faster-flowing sections remain cooler. Autumn sees a gradual drop, with temperatures commonly in the 10–16 °C (50–61 °F) range as air temperatures fall and discharge patterns change.
Swimming in the Rositsa is possible in many calm, accessible spots during the warmest months when water temperatures reach the high teens to mid-twenties Celsius, but it is not uniformly permitted or safe everywhere. Restrictions may apply near infrastructure, reservoirs, protected areas or water supply zones, and water quality can deteriorate after heavy rains or due to agricultural runoff. Currents, hidden debris, variable depth and the usual absence of lifeguards increase risk, so local signage, official rules and recent water-quality information should be checked before entering. Where conditions are suitable and allowed, summer swimming is the most common time for recreational use.
