** Average - Average water temperature on this day in recent years
*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
The Kongeå is a modest river in the Region of Southern Denmark whose water temperatures follow the seasonal pattern typical for lowland Danish waterways. In winter (December–February) temperatures commonly sit around 0–4 °C (32–39 °F), often close to freezing during cold spells. Spring (March–May) brings a rise to roughly 4–12 °C (39–54 °F) as runoff and increasing air temperatures warm the stream. In summer (June–August) the river can reach approximately 15–22 °C (59–72 °F) in warmer years, though flowing water and shading from riverine vegetation tend to keep it cooler than shallow lakes. Autumn (September–November) typically cools back to about 8–14 °C (46–57 °F).
Swimming in the Kongeå is generally allowed in Denmark, but formal public bathing sites are limited and local conditions vary. Because it is a working landscape with agricultural catchment and variable flow, water quality and depth can change with rainfall, and occasional runoff or algal episodes may affect safety. Currents, muddy banks and submerged obstacles are additional considerations, so swimmers are advised to follow local signs, check recent water-quality reports where available, and exercise caution rather than assuming the river is suitable for casual bathing everywhere.
