** Average - Average water temperature on this day in recent years
*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
The Vidå is a relatively shallow river in the Region of Southern Denmark that flows through marshland toward the Wadden Sea. Water temperatures vary with the seasons: in winter the river commonly sits around 0–4 °C (32–39 °F), early spring typically ranges from about 4–10 °C (39–50 °F), summer temperatures often rise to roughly 15–20 °C (59–68 °F) in the warmest stretches, and autumn cools back to around 8–14 °C (46–57 °F). Local conditions such as wind, rainfall, groundwater inflow and tidal influence near the mouth can push these values a few degrees up or down, and isolated shallow pools warm faster than deeper channels.
Swimming in the Vidå is possible in calm, accessible sections but is not generally provided with the same infrastructure or lifeguard supervision as formal bathing beaches. Whether people swim depends on local signage, land access and recent water-quality measurements; agricultural runoff and natural marsh sediments can affect clarity and bacteria counts, so authorities sometimes advise caution. Tidal influence close to the estuary can create stronger currents and muddy banks, making some spots unsafe. Visitors who choose to swim should use designated bathing areas where available, check current local guidance and exercise ordinary caution for riverine conditions.
