** Average - Average water temperature on this day in recent years
*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

The Río Jalón, a major tributary of the Ebro flowing through Aragon, shows pronounced seasonal and local variation in water temperature. In winter months the river typically cools to around 6–10 °C (43–50 °F), while spring temperatures usually rise to about 10–16 °C (50–61 °F) as snowmelt and rainfall increase flow. During summer, shallower and slower stretches can warm to roughly 18–24 °C (64–75 °F), and in late heat waves isolated pools or reservoir arms may reach slightly higher values. Autumn brings a gradual decline, with temperatures commonly in the 12–18 °C (54–64 °F) range. Upstream, shaded and faster-moving reaches remain colder year-round, whereas impounded or slow sections warm more quickly.
Swimming in the Río Jalón is possible in many informal spots, but it is not uniformly regulated or recommended everywhere. Local authorities sometimes designate safe bathing areas, yet access can be limited by private land, variable water quality, strong currents near narrow gorges or dam structures, and episodic pollution after heavy rains. Algal growth or low oxygen conditions may develop in stagnant arms during hot summers. For safety and health, swimmers should follow signage, consult municipal guidance, and avoid risky locations such as near weirs, intakes, or fast-flowing channels.
