** Average - Average water temperature on this day in recent years
*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Calatayud (in Spanish - Calatayud) is an inland town in Aragon whose nearby reservoirs and small lakes reflect the region’s continental Mediterranean climate, with warm, dry summers and cool winters. Water temperatures in these bodies of water vary by season and by depth: in winter surface temperatures commonly fall to around 6–8 °C (43–46 °F), during spring they typically rise to 10–16 °C (50–61 °F), in summer shallow areas often warm to about 20–26 °C (68–79 °F), and in autumn surface readings usually sit between 12–18 °C (54–64 °F). Local weather, recent rainfall, and the particular reservoir’s depth and flow make real temperatures fluctuate; deeper sections remain colder year-round and mornings and evenings are cooler than midday.
Swimming is possible in some waters around Calatayud but is governed by local rules and practical considerations. Certain reservoirs and organized bathing spots permit swimming at designated areas when water quality and safety conditions are met, while other sites—especially those serving as drinking-water sources or lacking lifeguard coverage—may prohibit bathing for legal and public-health reasons. Visitors should check on-site signage or municipal guidance before entering the water, take account of variable temperatures (which can cause cold shock), and be mindful of currents, underwater obstacles and the absence of rescue services in many locations.
