** Average - Average water temperature on this day in recent years
*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

The Evinos River (Greek: Εύηνος Ποταμός) shows notable seasonal variation in water temperature depending on elevation, flow and whether you are in a fast mountain stretch or the slower reservoir sections. Typical winter temperatures range from about 6–12 °C (43–54 °F), spring from roughly 10–18 °C (50–64 °F), summer from about 18–26 °C (64–79 °F), and autumn from roughly 14–20 °C (57–68 °F). Shallow, slow-moving pools and the lower reaches warm most in July–August, while narrow, shaded mountain reaches remain cooler year-round; recent rainfall or dam releases can also cause abrupt temperature drops.
Swimming is commonly practised in appropriate parts of the Evinos, particularly in calm pools and in slow-moving stretches during summer when temperatures are most comfortable. However, swimming may be restricted or unsafe near the dam, in fast-flowing sections, or where signage indicates prohibition, and water quality and access can vary locally. Visitors should check local information, respect posted signs and private property, be cautious about currents and sudden releases from reservoirs, and recognize that spring and early summer waters can still feel very chilly despite mild air temperatures.
