*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

The Bârlad River (Romanian: Râul Bârlad) flows through the north-eastern Romanian plain and shows marked seasonal variation in water temperature. In winter the river can approach freezing, typically around 0–4 °C (32–39 °F) in open stretches; during spring it warms to roughly 4–12 °C (39–54 °F) as snowmelt and rains increase flow. Summer is when the warmest conditions occur, with shallow, slow-moving reaches often reaching about 18–26 °C (64–79 °F) on hot days, while autumn brings cooling to roughly 8–15 °C (46–59 °F) as air temperatures fall. Local factors such as depth, shading, tributary inputs and recent weather can produce significant short-term differences from these averages.
Swimming on the Bârlad is possible in summer where temperatures are comfortable, but it is not universally designated or supervised as a bathing resource. Water quality and safety vary along the river; some sections are affected by agricultural runoff, urban discharge and vegetation that reduce clarity and raise health concerns, and currents or underwater debris can create hazards. For these reasons official bathing sites and water-quality monitoring are limited, and any decision to swim should be based on recent local information about pollution, flow conditions and permission from authorities.
