Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

The Topľa River flows through northeastern Slovakia, passing towns like Bardejov and Vranov nad Topľou, and is a typical mountain-to-lowland river. In its upper stretches, the water stays quite cool, rarely exceeding 16–18°C even in the peak of summer, which makes swimming there refreshing but short-lived. Further downstream, especially in the warmer lowland areas, the water temperature can rise to 20–22°C during hot spells, offering better conditions for wading or taking a dip.
Despite these warmer sections, the Topľa is not a major bathing river. Its flow is irregular, with shallow areas alternating with faster currents, so swimming tends to be more spontaneous and local rather than organized. For many people, the river serves more as a place to cool off on hot days, enjoy nature, or fish, while nearby lakes and pools are preferred for comfortable and safer swimming.
