*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
#London
West Warwick Reservoir sits within north-east London’s chain of reservoirs and tends to run cool through the year. Typical surface temperatures in winter are around 4–6 °C (39–43 °F), rising in spring to roughly 8–12 °C (46–54 °F). In summer the water can reach about 16–22 °C (61–72 °F) on warmer days, while autumn sees a gradual decline to near 10–14 °C (50–57 °F). These ranges vary with weather, wind and depth, but even in summer the reservoir remains noticeably colder than shallow urban lakes.
Swimming is generally not permitted at West Warwick Reservoir because it forms part of a managed water supply and nature reserve; restrictions protect water quality and public safety, as cold water, steep banks and hidden currents make unsupervised immersion hazardous. Instead the area is valued for wildlife and recreation: Walthamstow Wetlands and the Lee Valley Regional Park are nearby, offering birdwatching, walking and cycling routes, plus viewpoints and visitor facilities that attract people wanting to enjoy the reservoir without entering the water.
