*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
The Taigan Reservoir, located in the Belogorsk district of Crimea, is one of the larger artificial lakes on the peninsula. Its waters are fed mainly by mountain rivers, which means that the reservoir tends to stay relatively cool, especially in spring and early summer. In May and June, water temperatures usually range between 12-16°C, while in the peak of summer they can rise to around 20-23°C near the surface, making it more pleasant for bathing. However, because of the depth and the inflow of colder water, it rarely gets as warm as smaller lakes.
Swimming in the Taigan Reservoir is not officially arranged, since its main function is to provide water supply, but locals often use its shores for rest and summer recreation. The setting is scenic, surrounded by steppe landscapes and hills, which makes it an attractive place for relaxation. Bathing is possible, but it’s recommended to be cautious and avoid deeper areas or zones close to the dam, where currents and depth can make swimming less safe.
