Storsjön (Swedish: Storsjön) in Jämtland County typically shows clear seasonal variation in water temperature. In spring the surface water often ranges from about 2–10 °C (36–50 °F) as snowmelt and cold air keep the lake cool. Summer surface temperatures commonly peak between 15–22 °C (59–72 °F), with the warmest months—July and early August—giving the most comfortable conditions for swimming; deeper water remains appreciably colder year-round.
