** Average - Average water temperature on this day in recent years
*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Rodman Reservoir, on the Ocklawaha River in north‑central Florida, tends to follow the regional pattern of warm summers and mild winters. In summer months the surface temperature commonly runs from about 75–88°F (24–31°C), with shallower areas warming fastest in calm weather. Spring temperatures typically climb from roughly 60–75°F (16–24°C) as runoff and sun increase, while fall generally shows a gradual cooling to about 65–80°F (18–27°C). In winter the reservoir can drop to roughly 50–65°F (10–18°C) at the surface, especially on cooler nights; because the impoundment is relatively shallow and well mixed, strong thermal stratification is uncommon and temperatures can change fairly quickly with weather and flow conditions.
Swimming at Rodman is not organized with lifeguarded beaches and is generally not promoted as a primary recreational use. People do swim or wade in a few spots, but it is often discouraged due to a combination of factors: boat and fishing traffic, submerged timber and other underwater hazards, variable banks and currents, and the presence of wildlife such as American alligators. Local rules and posted signs control access in some areas, so anyone considering entering the water should check current regulations, be aware of risks, and treat swimming there as an activity done at one’s own risk.
