*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Prášilské jezero, located in the Šumava National Park in the Czech Republic, is a small glacial lake set in a serene mountainous landscape. Due to its elevation and relatively small size, the water remains quite cold even in the height of summer, usually ranging between 12–15 °C. This makes swimming rather challenging for most visitors, as the temperatures are brisk and the lake is better suited for short dips or wading rather than prolonged swimming.
The lake is surrounded by natural forest and wetlands, with very limited access points to the water. There are no designated swimming areas, beaches, or lifeguard facilities, so visitors need to exercise caution when entering the lake. Its calm surface and clear waters provide a peaceful setting, but the cold temperature and natural environment mean that recreational swimming is minimal.
Prášilské jezero is more popular for hiking, nature photography, and observing wildlife than for swimming. The tranquil setting and scenic surroundings make it an excellent spot to enjoy the beauty of the Šumava region, offering a refreshing escape into nature even if the water is too cold for extended swimming sessions.
