*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Partridge Lake in Wisconsin follows the typical seasonal cycle of northern glacial lakes. In spring (April–May) surface temperatures commonly sit between about 40–60°F (4–16°C) as the lake thaws; by summer (June–August) surface readings often rise into the mid‑60s to upper‑70s °F, roughly 18–26°C, with occasional warm spells pushing toward 80°F (27°C). During late summer the lake can stratify, so deeper water remains much cooler, often in the 40s–50s °F (4–12°C). In fall (September–November) surface temperatures generally fall back into the 40s–60°F range (4–15°C) as cooling and mixing occur. In winter the lake freezes over and water beneath the ice stays near freezing, typically about 32–39°F (0–4°C).
Swimming at Partridge Lake is generally permitted and is most comfortable in the warmest weeks of summer when surface temperatures are in the upper 60s to 70s °F (20–25°C). Visitors should be mindful that water quality advisories, harmful algal blooms, or private shoreline restrictions can temporarily prohibit swimming, so checking local conditions is important. Even in summer, sudden drops in temperature with depth present cold‑water shock risks for boaters who fall in, and shorelines can be uneven; standard safety precautions and awareness of posted notices are recommended.
